Spring Break 2018 included a lot of firsts for me. It was my first time *technically* being out of the country. It was also my first time on a cruise. I took a Carnival cruise ship to Nassau and Princess Cays in the Bahamas. I did not have any cell signal and only minimal wifi for five days. It was amazing. However, as with any beach, the sun, sand, and water definitely left my hair and skin needing a little extra care.

So here are the products that helped whip my hair and skin back into shape:

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 – Light

This is my favorite BB cream I’ve ever tried. It does have light/medium coverage, which is more coverage than most other BB creams, such as the Maybelline BB Cream that everyone and their mom tried when it came out. The BB Cream makes me look glowy without being oily. Overall, I just enjoy the fresh look this gives my skin. Also, the SPF 35 in this was a lifesaver. My face did not burn with this on and I was out in the sun a lot. If you are looking for a high-quality BB cream for the summer you should definitely check this one out.

IGK Smoke & Mirrors Conditioning Cleansing Oil

This stuff works like magic and since it is a 2-in-1 product it is perfect for vacations. The shower on the cruise ship left a lot to be desired so I was dying to get out of there as quickly as possible. Luckily this stuff both cleaned and conditioned my hair perfectly. It was so easy to get the tangles out of my hair once my hair had dried. Also I definitely noticed that this made my hair shinier. This product does not suds up so if you hate that then I would pass on this. The consistency of this product is like a gel when it comes out. Once you put it in your hair you can’t really feel that gel texture anymore. I recommend for vacations and for those with color-treated hair who don’t want to use heavy conditioners which can strip away color.

Drybar Mudslide Nourishing Hair Mask

This hair mask is really amazing if you need intense moisture. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes, rinse it out, and you will feel a difference in your hair. The hot tubs and ocean water left the ends of my hair feeling pretty dry and tangly. I used this once on the trip towards the end and my hair brushed out super easily and felt soft again. Definitely only use this on the bottom half of your hair or your roots will be oily in no time.

Up&Up Family Size Sport Sunscreen Spray SPF 50

Did you know that I’m the same color as a ghost? Well, I am. For that reason, sunscreen is my best friend. I picked up this bottle of sunscreen at Target and it came through for me. I barely got sunburned at all and the sun in the Bahamas is different. It is not like North Carolina. The sun down there burns through your soul. But not through this sunscreen.

P.S. There are a lot of complaints that apparently this sunscreen turns white clothes yellow. I did not have this problem but consider yourself warned.
