Marshalls is one of those stores that you go in and never know what you will come out with. Personally, it is one of my favorite stores to shop in especially for makeup. They have really great brands if you are willing to dig through the organized chaos. In the past, I have found Kat Von D, Kevyn Aucoin, Cargo, and other high-end beauty brands. My only caveat is please check whatever item you are buying. People are super gross and like to “try” out the product in the store. But if you can find an untouched product then you are in luck. This week I found three really neat products and I’m here to give you my reviews on them.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick — Catnip
Regularly at Sephora $20.00
This is by far the best item I got at Marshalls. I already own one Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in the color Milkshake. I love that color but Catnip is actually such a beautiful plum shade. It is a very wearable purple that is a great shade for any time of the year but especially the fall. I have already worn it multiple times and it is so comfortable on the lips. The price is also unbeatable considering you can get the exact same shade at Sephora right now for over double the cost. If you have never tried an Anastasia liquid lipstick then you are in for a treat. They last all day and they feel like nothing is on your lips. They also have an awesome shade range. My other shade recommendations are Ashton and Pure Hollywood.
I was so excited when I saw this and it was in perfect condition. I had seen this in stores and had been wanting to buy it. Matte eyeshadow is what I reach for on a day-to-day basis so I was super excited this came with 14 matte shades. I also love that they give you bigger pans for your base shade and transition shade. Smashbox eyeshadows are amazing quality. I will say these are definitely shadows in which you have to build up the color. The pigmentation is not all there on first application. I actually like shadows that I have to build up instead of super pigmented shades because I am less likely to make blending errors or have fallout. These shades have no fallout whatsoever. If you are a beginner at makeup or just love matte, neutral shades this is an amazing deal.
I hated this. I saw the color of this light peachy nude and I thought it would be amazing. Plus for the price, I thought this was a killer deal. However, the box makes it seem like you are getting a full-size lipstick. BUT that is not the case. You are actually getting a miniature lipstick in a normal lipstick-sized box. (Remember when I said to always check the package before buying! Do as I say. Not as I do.) So after that disappointment, I actually tried on the lipstick. The formula is awful. The color would have been pretty but the formula was so patchy and clung to dry areas. My lips looked disgusting. I really didn’t think the lipstick could get any worse at this point but I was wrong. The lipstick color was completely off my lips in an hour. I looked up this lipstick on Ulta and people LOVE it. I’m not sure if I bought a bad lipstick but all I know is it didn’t work out for me at all.
